Revere Works Coalition

Launched in early 2020 as part of an Urban Agenda grant award, the Revere Works coalition includes the City of Revere and partners The Neighborhood Developers/CONNECT, Revere CARES, the Revere Community School, Women Encouraging Empowerment, the Revere Chamber of Commerce, Moroccan American Connections in Revere (MACIR), and MassHire Metro North.

Coalition members collaborate regularly through planning and programming that all aim to strengthen and expand Revere residents' access to employment opportunities, job training, and educational programs.

Activities and Accomplishments

2020-2022: Moving Massachusetts Upstream Grant

Coalition members also work closely with MGH's Center for Community Health Improvement (CCHI). CCHI recently completed its Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) after a months-long Community Health Needs Assessment process, resulting in shared goals for Economic Stability and Mobility for the North Suffolk region.

In partnership with CCHI and partners in Chelsea and Revere, and guided by CHIP goals, the City will also be collaborating on the implementation of a Moving Massachusetts Upstream (MassUP) Investment Program grant from 2020-2022.

2020 Urban Agenda Grant (EOHED)

Coalition member The Neighborhood Developers/CONNECT was awarded a 2020 Urban Agenda Grant award, in partnership with the City of Revere, Women Encouraging Empowerment, the Revere Community School, and the Revere Chamber of Commerce.

The 2020 Urban Agenda grant award is providing ongoing support in connecting Revere residents to employment and training opportunities, and will continue a City-funded job training program.

2020 District Local Technical Assistance

In spring 2020, Revere Works partners supported the City of Revere in securing a Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) District Local Technical Assistance grant award to conduct a Revere workforce development planning process, set to launch in summer 2020.

Revere's workforce development plan will build on the work of the Next Stop Revere Master Plan and visioning process, which were also completed in partnership with MAPC.

2019 Next Stop Revere Master Plan

A 2019 Next Stop Revere jobs and employment focus group among Revere residents, which helped inform the Master Plan's Economic Development goals. Multiple members of the Revere Works coalition also served on the Master Plan Steering Committee, which informed MAPC and City staff in the content development and community engagement components of the plan.

2018 Urban Agenda Grant (EOHED)

In 2018, The Neighborhood Developers/CONNECT were recipients of an Urban Agenda Grant award from the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development. Grant funds supported the pilot of a CONNECT satellite office location in Revere on Walden Street and were supported by a City match commitment funding a free hospitality training for Revere residents.
